You live in a hectic world in which everything goes by you 1,000 miles per hour at top speed with no time to blink or you will miss something. You are in content overload and there is no way to keep up with all of it. In order to keep the chaos from taking over your life, you must find clarity by being clear and concise with your thoughts and actions.
You can be clear and concise with your thoughts and actions by ensuring each are working together in harmony to achieve your goals. When you take the time to clearly think about the things you must do on a daily basis it brings clarity to your life by identifying what is most important to you.
Be precise in your thinking but don’t overdo it to the point that it creates more than what is necessary. Overthinking can cause an overwhelming amount of un-necessary stress and chaos in your mind that can lead to cluttered thought processes and poor decision making. Clear your mind, be concise in your thoughts, and you will find the clarity you need to do what is important. You will accomplish your Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF).
Below are some ways in which you can find clarity
- Write things down (Don’t worry about how it looks or reads, just get it down on paper or digital device and build upon your thoughts). This can be in the form of a diary, a journal, daily notes, or a daily to-do list
- Don’t rush anything. Take your time, be precise, and fully aware of what you’re doing
- Don’t make hasty decisions because you failed to plan or someone else did. Just because someone else is in a hurry it doesn’t mean you have to be. Control the situation by remaining calm, courteous, and professional
- If you are unsure of anything, find clarity by asking questions. The dumbest question in the world is one that you did not ask
Finding clarity is an absolute must and you have to be intentional about how you go about accomplishing it. When you are able to clearly approach your life on a daily basis through the visual and physical action items I have outlined you will notice that you will be more focused on your Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF). When you are clearly focused on your BLUF, you can take appropriate action without the confusion of outside circumstances that will lead to peace, harmony, a sense of accomplishment, and the margin to do what matters most.
