Your day is hectic, you barely have any time to complete the things you have to let alone the things you would like to and you are finding yourself a bit overwhelmed. It’s often difficult to manage your time when so much of is already managed for you or dictated by external sources outside of your own influence.
This is stressful and will lead to a downfall of your motivation, morale, and even your health. You must do something every day to refresh your mind, body, and spirit. You must make time for yourself. You must set aside dedicated quiet time to do something you want or relax.
Everyone has the same amount of time every day to accomplish the things that happen in life. There are no additional hours in the day or magical time loop that will allow you to go back and get things right if you mess things up the first time. Just like all the super achievers and highly visible busy people out there you have 24 hours in which to achieve greatness every day.
With so many things tugging to gain your time, effort, energy, and attention. What do you do to intentionally keep your Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF) and more importantly what can you do to manage the time you barely have outside of your BLUF for yourself so that you don’t go crazy?
You have to be able to take time for yourself and allow your mind, body, and spirit to rest, relax, and recuperate in order to get back to maximum effectiveness so that you can really accomplish your BLUF. If you don’t take time for yourself you will drain your mind, body, and spirit of drive, determination, inspiration, motivation to maintain an effectively healthy personal and professional lifestyle.
Some suggestions are:
- Drink Tea
- Read a book
- Listen to music
- Go for a walk
- Enjoy some aromatherapy
- Go get a massage
- Go shopping
- Ride a bike
- Go to a museum (art, history, or educational)
- Take a hike through a nature trail
You have only one life to live. With all the things that are going on around you all day you need to take time for yourself and slow things down from time to time. It is vital for your own well-being that you take a good step back from the action of everyday life, do things that you enjoy doing so you don’t overwhelm yourself and lose your mind.
Once you are able to intentionally take a step back and partake in things that will aid in the rest, recuperation, and revitalization of your mind, body, and spirit you will enjoy life so much more and be resilient enough to bounce back when things do get hectic.
